Carole Vincent, Jonty Stern and Kara-Louise Horne (who suffers from Vitiligo); were all stars of Channel Four's Big Brother show, and volunteered to paint faces and support the Birthmark Support Group's fun day. The event took place at the Drama Centre, Chigwell School on Sunday 16th September from 12.30pm to 5.00pm.
The UK charity, which was set up in 1998 by parents of children with birthmarks, hosted a fun day to provide an opportunity for children, teenagers and adults with birthmarks to meet each other, exchange ideas, share experiences and make new friends. Great Ormond Street's Hospital Birthmark Medical Team was also on hand to offer advice and their support.
Louise Busfield, from Poole, a trustee of the Birthmark Support Group, comments: "This event provided a unique opportunity for many people with birthmarks to meet others who are facing the same challenges in coping with living with a visible difference. I was delighted that the Big Brother stars were able to attend this important event."
The event was also supported, for the second time, by the South's leading teambuilding company Progressive Resources, who donated a huge bouncy castle. Other attractions included: a special welcome pack, a variety of games to suit all ages and a chance to have your face painted by the Big Brother celebrities. |
