EDGE

 24th Oct 2006

Teams of year 9 and 10 students will be tasked by Progressive Resources to complete mentally and physically demanding exercises at Ashdown Park, East Sussex on Wednesday 1st November 2006.

Progressive Resources, which organises over five hundred unique teambuilding and entertainment events each year, will be kick-starting the adrenaline fuelled activities with a series of tasks which focus on vital business skills such as teambuilding, leadership and planning. The students will be challenged with activities such as bridge building, negotiating a web of laser beams and launching a rocket to travel at least 150 metres. Progressive Resources will be using trained members of its team to guide and mentor the students as part of their commitment to this enterprise initiative.

Julie Kapsalis, Head of Operations, SEEDA said: "We chose Progressive Resources to host Challenge One because we felt they would be able to help the teams to enhance their skills including problem solving and teamwork. The skills developed through the work with Progressive Resources will not only help the teams through subsequent challenges but also promote a good foundation for when they begin work."

The EDGE is taking place across the whole of the South East region where teams of students will compete in five special challenges designed to test and sharpen their enterprise skills. For more information on the competition please visit: www.haveyougottheedge.com
