Our team building sailing days operate from The Solent on the South Coast near Southampton, Portsmouth, Hamble and Lymington. The Solent is the spiritual home of British sailing. Whether you’re a self-confessed land lubber or salty old seadog, you’ll love a day of nautical team building, sailing and racing on gorgeous 40ft yachts.
Our yachts are fully crewed with a skipper and hostess. Participants are encouraged to take the helm to steer the yacht, handle the sails and grind the winches. We expect most participants to have never set foot on a boat before, let alone raced. We are experts at making sure everybody feels safe and enjoys the day.
With a fleet of identical boats, you can enjoy some really exciting sailing racing. Experience has taught us that everyone has great fun. It is natural to start out a little anxious but within minutes even the most timid are buzzing. It is the novelty of this experience that makes it both memorable and a stunning team building event.
We can run this sailing event from a number of ports along the South Coast including Southampton, Hamble River and Portsmouth. We have partnered with some exceptional venues with direct access to the water, including Southampton Harbour Hotel and The Nici New Forest, making for an easy and seamless transfer from land to sea.
Following a safety brief from your skipper, the boats will motor out into the Solent. The morning will consist of some leisurely sailing to get used to the yacht and learn how everything works.
After lunch on board, or at a yacht club ashore, we increase the competitive team element by running some short, sharp races. Yacht racing is truly a team sport, you’ll find that communication and team coordination is key if you want to sail faster than your competition.
For those of you who fancy a bit more horse-power, we can also arrange for you to have a blast on one of our Ribs! Feel free to ask for more information about this.
We will work with you to create an itinerary that best suits your group. As well as the Sailing, we can arrange every aspect of your event including transport, hotels and any conference requirements.

Everyone really enjoyed themselves and we all had so much fun. I think that it is probably the best team building event we have done so far. Having never sailed before I had absolutely no idea what was about to happen and apart from thinking I might die at one point I soon realised that the yacht was actually meant to be at that angle and loved it. The sailing was wonderful, very relaxing but with enough for us to do to feel that we had learnt and contributed something.

Corporate Sailing is a team-building day on the Solent where teams learn to sail and compete aboard 40-foot yachts. The event combines an introduction to sailing with hands-on roles on board before moving into short, competitive races where communication and coordination become particularly important.
No. The yachts are fully crewed with a skipper and hostess, and the event is designed for groups that may never have sailed before. Participants are encouraged to get involved by taking the helm, handling sails and operating the winches, with the skipper guiding the crew throughout.
Corporate Sailing operates on the Solent on the South Coast, with sailing available from ports including Southampton, Hamble River and Portsmouth. The Solent is a particularly fitting setting for the event because of its strong connection with British sailing.
After a safety briefing from the skipper, the yachts head out into the Solent and the group gets time to become familiar with the boat and learn how everything works. After lunch, the competitive element increases with a series of short races, where teamwork, communication and coordination all make a difference.
Yes. Rather than simply being passengers, participants are encouraged to take an active role on board. Depending on the role assigned by the skipper, this can include steering the yacht, handling the sails and grinding the winches, giving everyone a chance to contribute to the crew.
The day can start relatively leisurely as everyone learns the ropes, but the competitive element builds after lunch when the teams take part in short yacht races. Because sailing is so dependent on coordinated crew work, teams need to communicate and work together if they want to get ahead.
Yes. The sailing can form part of a wider corporate itinerary, and the event team can help organise associated transport, accommodation and conference requirements. This makes it possible to combine sailing with meetings or other corporate activities as part of a wider away day.
The event is suitable for groups of around 5 to 300 people, with multiple yachts allowing larger groups to take part and compete against one another. The exact arrangement depends on your group size and the sailing itinerary you choose.
The event is designed with inexperienced sailors in mind. Each yacht has a skipper and hostess, and the day begins with a safety briefing before participants gradually get involved with the sailing. The aim is to get everyone contributing rather than expecting guests to arrive with nautical experience.
Yes. A Rib experience can be arranged for groups looking for an extra burst of speed, and the wider event can also be planned alongside transport, hotels and conference requirements. The itinerary can therefore be built around the needs of your corporate group rather than being limited to sailing alone.
