Stand alongside Santa’s elves, reindeer, and fellow racers as you create a winning team for our Christmas Derby! In this festive Derby, you’ll design, build, and race your very own Christmas sleigh in an exciting team-building event filled with seasonal cheer.
Your team starts with a pre-built sleigh chassis, and it’s up to you to build the rest! Blueprint your sleigh’s bodywork, brand it with festive designs, and race to earn points. But be careful—stay within the rules, or your sleigh might get stuck on the naughty list…
Christmas isn’t just about the sleighs—you’ll also need to create a festive brand for your team! Design team hats, decorate your sleigh, and pitch your Christmas theme to our branding experts. Bonus points for festive puns, creative logos, and clever sponsor names. Once your sleighs are built and decorated, they’ll line up for a head-to-head race. The relay includes a pit stop challenge where your team will replace the "reindeer hooves" (aka tyres!) before racing back to the start for the win!

The general feedback from the team was that they were expecting a more traditional “teambuilding exercise” which a number of them had done in the past and so were all really surprised how much they enjoyed this. I think the competition element really helped and has certainly still got everyone talking about it today – some are even still wearing their caps!

Yes. It gives colleagues a shared, hands-on challenge with plenty of laughter, festive decoration and a competitive finale, making it a lively alternative to a standard Christmas drinks or meal. It works well as the daytime activity before a Christmas dinner or party.

No. The chassis gives every team a solid starting point, and the challenge rewards imagination and teamwork as much as technical skill. Builders, designers, decorators and presenters all have an important role to play.
Points are awarded for sleigh design and innovation, the sponsorship pitch and the head-to-head pit stop race. The team with the most points is crowned Festive Derby Champions and receives medals.
Christmas Derby lasts approximately two to three hours. That makes it easy to fit into a Christmas away day, leaving time for lunch, drinks or an evening celebration afterwards.
Christmas Derby is suitable for groups of approximately 10 to 150 people. The group is split into teams, each building and racing its own sleigh, so it scales well for departments and whole-company Christmas events.
Once the race is over, the sleighs are taken apart and the materials are recycled. That means teams get all the fun of the build without leaving a pile of festive waste behind.
