Teams take control of eco-friendly boats and navigate along one of London's historic waterways. Using an iPad and a map of the permitted route, they unlock bespoke challenges while competing against the other crews.
Routes are available from Paddington or Canary Wharf. The Paddington experience explores Regent's Canal and Little Venice, while the starting location can be selected to work with your wider London corporate-event plans.
No specialist boating experience is required. An experienced skipper provides a safety briefing and demonstrates how to operate the boat before the hunt begins, allowing each crew to feel confident before leaving the starting point.
Each boat can accommodate up to eight people. Larger corporate groups are divided across several boats, creating separate crews that can compete while following the same overall treasure-hunt experience.
Each team receives lifejackets, an iPad containing the treasure-hunt software and a map showing the waters available for the activity. The boats travel at a relaxed maximum speed of approximately 3.5 knots.
The software unlocks challenges connected to the route and surroundings. Teams need to observe carefully, communicate and make decisions together rather than simply enjoying a sightseeing cruise along the canal.
Yes. The hunt can be adapted to your company or event, including the addition of branding, logos or artwork within the iPad experience. This can help connect the activity to a conference theme or company celebration.
The event lasts approximately two to three hours. This provides time for the safety briefing, boat demonstration and competitive hunt while leaving room in the day for meetings, food or another London activity.
The Canal Treasure Hunt is suitable for approximately 10 to 100 participants. Teams are distributed between boats of up to eight people, allowing every crew member to become involved in navigation and problem-solving.
The boats turn the journey itself into part of the challenge. Teams must work together within their crew, navigate an unusual London environment and solve clues while passing waterside landmarks that many colleagues may never have seen before.
