Crystal Challenge

The Indoor Crystal Challenge is a team-building event inspired by TV's Crystal Maze. Teams rotate around a series of mental and physical challenges, winning crystals for every successful task. The team with the most crystals at the end is crowned the winner.

The challenges mix cerebral puzzles with spatial and practical tasks. Depending on your group, they can include Brunel, Paper Towers, Dilithium Run, Interlocker, Cube Conundrum, NASA Moon Project and Microdot, each testing a different combination of logic, planning and coordination.

Every challenge successfully completed earns the team crystals. As the competition builds and the tally grows, teams push harder to win as many as possible before the final count.

After a briefing from our Event Manager, the group is split into teams of about eight people. Each team then moves around the challenges, with instructors explaining every task before the team decides how to tackle it.

Teams spend around 20 to 25 minutes on each challenge. When the whistle blows, everyone moves on to the next one, which keeps the pace brisk and the energy high throughout the event.

No. Some challenges are practical and hands-on, but the emphasis is on thinking, communicating and working together rather than fitness. That means everyone in the group can play a meaningful part.

Yes. Because the challenges vary so much, different people come to the fore at different stations. The colleague who struggles with a logic puzzle may be exactly the person needed to crack the next spatial task.

The event lasts approximately two to four hours, depending on the number of challenges selected. It works well as a half-day activity or alongside meetings and a conference programme.

The Indoor Crystal Challenge is suitable for approximately 10 to 200 people. Larger groups are divided into more teams, so every participant stays actively involved rather than watching from the sidelines.

The challenges call for clear communication, lateral thinking, leadership and planning under time pressure. These are the same skills teams rely on back in the office, which makes the lessons easy to carry over into everyday work.
