The Team

James Coakes - Managing Director

Born: Southampton

James founded Progressive Resources in 1989 and lives in the New Forest with wife Emma who is the other director of Progressive Resources.

James oversees the day to day operation of the company and keeps an eye on future direction. 'We have a five year plan which takes us to 2012, the Olympic year. The next five years will be very exciting and we aim to keep ourselves at the forefront.'

When he's not working James thinks about working. 'I just love my job' he explains.

Emma Coakes - Director

Emma Coakes

Born: Kingston Upon Thames

Emma married James in 1996 and in 1999 she became a director of Progressive Resources.

As well as this Emma also handles the company secretary role handling some of the legal issues and technicalities of the business.

Emma lists: Riding, mumming, baking and gardening as her favourite out of work activities.

Steve Perkins - Director of Events

Born: Hertfordshire

Steve has been with the company for six dedicated years and in this time he has been involved with more than 2000 events.

A career that started as a watersports instructor, lead him into the management of outdoor events. From this he followed a more specialist line in corporate activities.

His hobbies include: kayaking, climbing, snowboarding and water skiing.

Dave Getzig - Director of Operations

Born: Manchester

Dave joined in 2001. His primary role involves fronting the events team by keeping event managers and staff under control.

Responsible for the actual "doing" of the event, he is the brains and the driving force of the operations department.

Too busy for hobbies in the summer, he is a keen football player and an adrenalin snow board freak in the winter.

David Getzig

Vickie Urpens - Event Consultant

Born: Gravesend

Also known as Princess Vickie Urpens.

The Latvian blood that runs through her veins gives her the edge in hammering every detail to make a perfect event.

Vickie is friendly and hardworking and outside of the office she loves to party and to hit the gym hard.

A member of the Progressive team since June 2005

Chris Welch - Event Consultant

Born: Sydney, Australia

Chris is the big man of the office, standing at a towering 6ft 3.

His height is matched by his giant personality, but this is a helpful and friendly guy who will endeavour to make every detail of your event perfect.

Chris has been with us since May 2005.

His outside interests include EXTREME sports, the gym, skiing and surfing.

Ian Harnett - Event Consultant

Born: Devon

Ian has rejoined Progressive Resources after finishing his Degree and taking a year out to travel the world.

Ian was previously a Placement Student with Progressive and wrote his dissertation on the effects of Teambuilding in the Corporate world.

In his spare time Ian enjoys Rugby, Snowboarding, Wakeboarding and is always full of energy and enthusiasm.

Sally Rosser - Senior Project Manager

Sally Rosser

Born: Rochdale

Sally is the latest member of the Progressive Project Managers Team.

Sally has a keen eye for detail and a gentle personality to allow her to ensure that events are always well executed.

Outside of work Sally likes to Ski and play Tennis.
